“599 Contest Group” is a long term project initiated and supported  by YO3JR and YO3FRI, both  operators with experience in  contesting and DX traffic.

The main objectives are:

• Building and developing a competitive radio-contest location  at  a national and international level;
• Professional approaches in contests  planning and operators training;
• International promoting of Romanian amateur radio and operators by competing in multinational teams from DX locations;
  
• Experimenting and developing new radio-contest technologies and technics;
• Active interaction and full collaboration with other societies and radio clubs for accomplishment of various projects;
• Attracting and training young operators;
• Promoting radio trough local communities by picturing this passion also as a good alternative for enjoying free time;
  
• Emergency communications.
